At Kids on Collins, we recognise families as the child’s first educator. We understand the importance of building strong partnerships between families and educators in an early education setting. Children thrive when learning and development are supported through collaborative relationships. Clear and open communication is key to fostering these meaningful partnerships with families.
At Kids on Collins, we understand the value of one-on-one conversations, whether by phone or in person. Every family has the opportunity to contact their child’s room throughout the day. Simply call the Centre, and your call will be directed straight to your child’s room so you can speak directly with the educators caring for them. When you arrive to pick up your child, educators are available to discuss your child’s day and address any queries or concerns.
Each afternoon, our educators share a daily written update with families through the Storypark programme. This update provides a broad overview of the activities and learning experiences your child engaged in that day. It also offers families the opportunity to use photos and prompts to spark meaningful conversations with their child each evening.
Our educators use the Storypark programme to document each child’s unique learning journey. In collaboration with families, we develop individualised learning goals for every child in our care. These goals form the basis for a personalised learning plan, which is documented and regularly updated on Storypark. This allows you to receive real-time updates directly to your smartphone. Storypark is fully interactive, offering families the chance to respond, share ideas, update Educators, and engage with other families
Each room has an educational programmeme plan that is displayed and also shared through the Storypark programmeme. This plan outlines the intentional teaching strategies, room goals, and learning outcomes set for the children.
All communication from our administration staff to families will be sent via email. This includes newsletters, centre events, important reminders, and account information.
